The plague killed many, so the wages went up. People lost faith in the Catholic Church. Cities fell apart, and almost a generation of people were lost.

Modern Day Plagues:
1) Malaria:
Malaria is the one of the most common diseases. Female mosquitoes carry this disease. It is first known to have started around 1600 and is still spreading today. Tropical and subtropical regions seem to carry this disease more. (areas of the Americas, Asia, and Africa)
2) Typhus:
Typhus can be contracted from body lice, mites, or fleas. Around 430 BC was when it was believed to have started and is still spreading. This disease main inhabits Eastern Europe, the Middle East and parts of Africa.
3) Cholera:
Cholera can be contracted from drinking contaminated water. It started around 1817 and still affects us today. Egypt is the main place to catch this disease.
